Regarding your question about the need for iOS Simulator, there are plenty of reasons to use it.
checking UI on different devices checking UI with keyboard using shake gesture checking app behaviour upon entering/leaving background etc. Surely there are workarounds for when you need libs like that, but it would have been nice to not have to use these workarounds.
